Ray Heavens - Lead Guitar and Vocals
Hi - I'm Ray. I've been playing guitar for over 29 years, 21 of those in professional bands. I spent 9 years learning the instrument and now enjoy playing many different styles of music. My personal preference is Rock 'n' Roll and Country Blues, but I treat every song on it's merits, usually finding a way of adding my own style to it. I like a challenge and this band is certainly doing that.

Cobalt Curry: My first School band playing mainly Eagles, Pink Floyd & some Yes stuff (2 years).
Outline 60: Rock 'n' Roll covers band playing the music of the Shadows, Beatles, Buddy Holly and pretty much every other type of 60's & 70's music (12 years).
Blurred Vision: A real mix of music band playing everything from 40's Jazz to Tina Turner. I learned how to be adaptable in this band more than any other (7 years).
Equipment:
I have had many guitars over the years but have now settled on a custom made Manson Super Strat.This guitar was designed by me and built by the Master luthier Hugh Manson (maker of guitars for John Paul Jones, Jethro Tull, Muse and many other top players) at his workshops in Crediton, Devon. It is constructed from AAA grade quilted maple over alder with a birds eye maple neck and African ebony fret board inlaid with abalone, mother of pearl and other rare shells. EMG pickups, Wilkinson floating trem, sperzal locking machine heads and the electrics are active with a middle bost system built in. I play this through a FenderBlues Deville 4x10 valve amp with Marshall 2x12 extension cabinet. All effects are courtesy of my Boss GT6 processor.
I am enjoying this band more than the rest, because of the wealth of experience it has to offer, everyone can contribute their own styles which makes the end result very interesting, not just covering songs but making them our own.
